Ananse
Reach Concept has designed a special programme to ensure that majority
of the youth in Ghana are engaged in some form of decent,
self-sustaining employment. Ananse looks forward to get over 3 million
youth gainfully employed by the year 2013. Ananse Reach Concept expects
to collaborate with relevant State institutions to register all
unemployed youth into its database for allocation of jobs within all
emerging businesses that will feed into the Ananse programme i.e. all
emerging businesses formed to produce for the Ananse programmes shall
draw a percentage of their staff from the Ananse database. Under the
programme;
· All
production points shall be in the locality with a mandatory minimum of
80% of semi-skilled and unskilled labour drawn from people residing
within the locality.
· No
labour under our terms shall be engaged for more than 6 hrs i.e. work
shall be ran in shifts 6am-12pm and 12pm-6pm maximum; to ensure “A job
for everyone”. If the salary for one is shared among two people, at
least there is a job and income for everyone and since the worker is
engaged for only 6 hours, they can engage themselves during the other
half of the day in other self-employed ventures. This design is also to
give time and financial opportunities to young people to further their
education.
· Workers shall be engaged under a universal terms and conditions of employment and a single spine salary system.
Pre-registration
into the database shall be announced in due course. Ghana’s National
Youth Employment Programme shall be consulted to explore any
opportunities for collaboration. Areas that will require staffing
