The Foundation

Ananse Reach Concept is a CHILD-INITIATED and CHILD-DRIVEN movement that seeks the active participation of CHILDREN in all spheres of national development thereby building quality leadership for the future.

After the events that triggered the idea of Ananse Reach Concept,  Anansewaa Nana Adwoa Oforiwaa Anti and Ananse Lawrence William Ayim Anti; then 11 and 9 years old wrote a book entitled “My Memoire” which depicted their experience in the hinterlands. Numerous ideas started reflecting in the two children’s minds and with some adult advice and support, the bits and pieces of their ideas were logically collated and packaged into a document entitled the “Conceptual Framework”.

After ensuring that the organization has taken roots and seeing the need for the organization to grow irrespective of their presence and contributions, Nana Adwoa and Lawrence have taken a back-stage position and have appointed hardworking members of the organization to run the affairs of Ananse Reach Concept.  Currently, the National President of Ghana is 16 year old hardworking Anansewaa Emefa. Nana Adwoa and Lawrence have been constituted into a body called "The Foundation".

The Foundation consists of the first two Founders and any other individual they may wish to include. In 2008, they included their little sister Anansewaa Awurama making the membership three.

 The name (Ananse Reach Concept), and Logo (a globe partly covered by a grey spider and the inscription Ananse Reach Concept - Children Saving the Future), the Guiding Principles and the Anthem

The Foundation shall be the international body and shall facilitate the coordination between two or more member States.

The Foundation shall be the body under Ananse Reach Concept to admit any Country wishing to join the Concept.

The Foundation shall be the sole body under the Concept to grant rights on the use of the Name Ananse Reach Concept, the Concept’s Logo, the Guiding Principles and the Concept’s Anthem.

The Foundation shall play a lead role in facilitating the establishment of Ananse Reach Concept in every State and phase out upon the full establishment and activeness of all the components under the Concept.

The Foundation shall respect the autonomy of Ananse Reach Concept in every member state and shall not unduly interfere in national activities once they do not contravene any of the Guiding Principles as well as not constituting to misuse and abuse of the Name, Logo and Anthem.

As minors, the Foundation membership shall appoint a Head of Foundation who shall be a person of their choice to guide them and act on their behalf till they can demonstrably prove their capacity to manage the Foundation on their own. 

Ananse Reach Concept has stood the test of time; battling with the usual lack of recognition given to children and their thoughts; currently it aspires to become the first universal association for the young generation which shall strive to ensure that the future they are bound to inherit is given a strong foundation starting from today.
